Cenergist

District and communal heating systems are essential for residential providers to meet their climate change and fuel poverty goals.

We are specialists in retrofit installations involving either end of life systems or first-time installations in existing blocks, replacing electric storage heating or individual gas-fired boilers.   Our quality-led approach utilises best practice in the design and installation of district and communal heating systems covering plant, subterranean pipework, risers & laterals and complete domestic packages.

We are experienced with biomass, gas and heat pump based systems and provide a full turn-key service.  This includes full technical and financial design of the project through to delivery on site while ensuring minimal disruption for residents.

London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham, Major Programme of Plant Room upgrades

Cenergist was appointed to deliver a suite of district heating plant room and subterranean heating mains upgrades for London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham.

The project involved upgrading communal & district heating systems to over 500 homes in across 7 schemes. Cenergist worked closely with the Council team to develop the designs and implement robust delivery methods to overcome space constraints in plant rooms, prevent risks of unplanned system downtime and minimise resident disruption.

The project commenced in October 2019 and completed in summer 2020.

Hathersage Court, London Borough of Islington

London Borough of Islington appointed Cenergist in 2019 to undertake essential time limited works to remove all gas boilers and appliances in Hathersage Court and design and install a new heating and hot water system serving all 69 units.

A new, efficient external gas communal heating system was installed along with new pipework. Heat is transferred to homes using Heat Interface Units and existing central heating systems were reused where possible to reduce residential disruption during lockdown. The project completed in programme in July 2020.

Turnkey design and renewal of 5 communal heating systems serving 240 homes.

This involved new plant rooms, distribution pipework and domestic systems for each flat.

The project was finished on time and budget with very high resident satisfaction on both the works and end system performance. The new systems are much more energy efficient, with monitoring data showing that over a 24-month period resident fuel bills have been reduced by >50%.
