Cenergist’s chief executive officer (CEO), Mitesh Dhanak, has been appointed to the steering group of the UK government’s new Energy Efficiency Task-Force.

The task-force will devise a work plan to help reduce total UK energy demand by 15 percent from 2021 levels by 2030 across domestic and commercial buildings and industrial processes. It is co-chaired by Lord Callanan, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the newly created Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, and NatWest Group CEO, Alison Rose DBE.

Commenting on the appointment, Mitesh said: “It is a privilege to have been invited to be a member of the Energy Efficiency Task-force’s steering group. Improving the energy efficiency of buildings is often the most cost-effective route to cutting carbon emissions and energy bills, as well as reducing reliance on imported fossil fuels.

“I look forward to working closely with the other members to help inform the development of UK policy in this area.”
