What information do we collect about you?
We collect information about you when you register with us or apply for a product or service from us. We will use this information to provide the product and or services requested; maintain guarantee records; comply with the terms of funding for products or services which access grant funding, and if you agree, to send you marketing information.
The type and quantity of information we collect and how we use it depends on why you are providing it. We will usually collect;
- Your name, address, postcode
- Your contact details
- Type of property (flat, house) and number of bedrooms
If you are applying for access to grant funding, where it is appropriate we may also ask for:
- Details of any benefits you are in receipt of
- Your date of birth
- Proof of property ownership, or details of your landlord
We will mainly use your data to:
- Provide you with the services, products or information you asked for
- Administer access to grant funding
- Keep a record of your relationship with us
- Ensure we know how you prefer to be contacted
- To meet regulatory requirements for certain products or services identified to you at the time of application
- Understand how we can improve our services, products or information
We also collect information when you voluntarily complete customer surveys, provide feedback and participate in competitions.
How will we use the information about you?
We collect information about you to process your request for access to our products and or services and, if you agree, to email or write to you about other products or services we think maybe of interest to you.
We use your information collected to personalise our response to you. If you agree, we shall pass on your personal information to our group of companies so that they may offer you their products and or services.
Cenergist will not share your information for marketing purposes with companies outside of Cenergist. In processing your order for our products or services, we may if appropriate, send your details to and also use information from credit reference agencies and fraud prevention agencies.
Marketing. We would like to send you information about products and services of ours and other companies in our group which may be of interest to you. If you have consented to receive marketing, you may opt out at a later date. You have the right at any time to stop us from contacting you for marketing purposes or giving your information to other members of the Cenergist Group. Social Media. Depending on your settings or the privacy policies for social media and messaging services like Facebook, WhatsApp or Twitter, you might give us permission to access information from those accounts or services.

How we keep your data safe and who has access to it?
We ensure that there are appropriate technical controls in place to protect your personal details. For example our online forms are always encrypted and our network is protected and routinely monitored.
We undertake regular reviews of who has access to information that we hold to ensure that your information is only accessible by appropriately trained staff and contractors. We may use external companies to collect or process personal data on our behalf. We do comprehensive checks on these companies before we work with them, and put a contract in place that sets out our expectations and requirements, especially regarding how they manage the personal data they have collect or have access to.
We may need to disclose your details if required regulatory bodies. We will only ever share your data in other circumstances if we have your explicit and informed consent.
